Year 3 mental and written methods depend on fluent facts and early multiplicative structure from Year 2.

  • Recall addition and subtraction facts to 20 and related facts to 100.
  • Recognise and use the inverse relationship between addition and subtraction.
  • Recall multiplication and division facts for the 2, 5 and 10 tables.
