Comparing texts means examining two (or more) pieces of writing side by side to identify how they're similar and different — not just in subject matter, but in the METHODS each writer uses and the EFFECT those methods create. A strong comparison doesn't just say 'text A is happy and text B is sad'; it explains HOW each writer builds that mood or viewpoint through specific techniques, and evaluates which is more effective and why.

“Text A describes a storm using short, urgent sentences. Text B describes the same kind of storm using long, flowing sentences full of imagery.”

Both texts describe a storm, but Text A's structure creates a sense of panic and speed, while Text B's structure creates a slower, more atmospheric, almost beautiful sense of danger. Comparing them means explaining this specific difference in method and effect, not just noting that both are 'about a storm'.
